This Needlefish was designed at 9″ long and weighs between 2.35-2.5oz to be just the right size whether you’re fishing from boat or from shore. Our 9” Needlefish is weighted to sink more slowly than most others on the market. This allows the 247 Needlefish to swim perfectly in that shallow water boulder field or sandy beach where the big stripers love to feed.
Cast it out, let it sink to your desired depth, and retrieve slowly. Give it a twitch occasionally to flash the underbelly sideways at the fish. But also do not be afraid to mix up your retrieve until you find what the fish are interested in! Sometimes creeping it slowly past the boulders is what they are keyed in on, but sometimes short bursts of speed will get their attention better. There's also been plenty of nights when skipping it quickly across the surface was the ticket to draw strikes.
